Feel Grand at the Residence by Marriott, Lake Tahoe

Getting to the Grand Residence by Marriott, Lake Tahoe, takes a bit of time. First, you will fly into Reno-Tahoe International Airport, then take a taxi about 45 minutes drive to the hotel entrance. But the payoff is evident as soon as you step onto the grand property – – the region’s most ambitious wilderness hotel.

Lake Tahoe has always been on my bucket list – and I can now cross it off my bucket list. This wish recently became a reality and I am still reaping the benefits of a perfect and relaxing getaway. Yes, it is true, If you have never been to Lake Tahoe, you are missing out on a very integral part of life.

Straddling along the state line between California and Nevada and west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the most populous city in El Dorado County, California, United States, in the Sierra Nevada. As its name suggests, the city is located on the southern shore of Lake Tahoe and is known as the largest alpine lake in North America.

Ok, enough with the history lesson. The Grand Residence by Marriott, Lake Tahoe makes up a huge portion of the Heavenly® Village in South Lake Tahoe, California. The luxurious 184 guest-rooms long list of amenities includes a heated outdoor pool fitting for a king and a jacuzzi. There is also The Serenity Spa for pampering and a 24-hour fitness center with state of the art gym equipment. If you are planning a family getaway, this is the place to be. There is something to do for everyone, no matter the age. There are family and children activities such as The Den at Timber Lodge and the clubhouse at Timber Lodge.

Let me tell you about my room.

After checking in, which went well, I made my way up to my home (studio one queen room) for three days and two nights. My room included an exquisite line up of a studio bedroom, studio dining area, and the studio kitchen that is fully equipped. Worthy of mention is the great city view that I had from my room. If you were thinking that a hotel in the valley would have pandered to its location, screaming mountain in its aesthetics, you thought wrong. You will instead discover modern designs mixed with a subtle side of a tropical island resort.

The hotel also boasts an exquisite line up of guest rooms, one- and two-bedroom residence rentals. Each Residence delivers all the comforts of home, with fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators and stovetops, 32-inch flat-screen televisions with cable programming that provides entertainment, and complimentary wireless Internet access that will keep you connected. Conveniences include phones, as well as safes and microwaves. The one and two-bedroom suites come with a cozy fireplace.

Even though The Grand Residence by Marriott Lake Tahoe is one of the more expensive hotel’s in the area, it is still the real deal. Just incase you want to have some more fun off property, enjoy local attractions such as Heavenly Ski Base – Gondola, Lake Tahoe, water sports, magic carpet mini golf, and Beaches such as the Nevada and Lakeside Beach. If you are a casino lover, the Hard Rock is there too – and if you are someone who loves to take pictures, trust and believe that there are plenty of sceneries to make the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot.
