The Picture Perfect Moxy!
Unfolded in the inventiveness of artfulness and crafts is the Moxy NYC Times Square!
Where is it located? This creative grandeur is located at 485 7th Avenue, New York 10018 USA in the heart of Midtown, under the shimmering lights of Times Square – and the list of things to see and do in this magical city is long – very long.
From high end unique accommodation to 5 star posh constructed rooms, I have always had a fascination for boutique hotels. Because of this well preserved fascination, the Moxy Times Square Hotel has always been on my radar. Fortunately, my inauguration to the property was just a few days ago and it was a restful spectacle. A noticeable boutique hotel in Manhattan, the Moxy Times Square sets a paradigm for a new boutique social hotel, proving that affordable rates don’t mean sacrificing style. The property also welcomes guests to experience the very essence of esteemed extravagance, where classic style meets contemporary design. Its ideal location in a busy, metropolitan area near the Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal, the busiest bus terminal in the world, prominent retail shops, restaurants, and places for leisure allows for a serene city escape as well as convenient access to a range of popular amenities. The immediate vicinity of this hotel is also deeply picturesque, perfect for Instagram – and just incase you were wondering about the service offered at this hotel, you must know that the staff is really helpful and accessible and they’re usually informed about the the vicinity and the city very well. If you need to know where to go and have some fun or where to have a great dining experience outside of the hotel, they are always willing to offer helpful advise about that too.
A picture-perfect room
Upon entering my room, I was stunned at how small the room is. However, the splendor of creativity clothed in the essence of distinguished sophistication sums up what I saw at first glance. What do you need to know? Well, the size of the room is 150sqft/14sqm room and it has one double bed covered with plush duvets with 300 thread-count and 100% Egyptian cotton linens that are smartly tucked opposite the entrance with clever under bed storage. I must say, the interiors of this room have been designed in a rich and idiosyncratic style with an intricately carved wooden and rustic aesthetic, all set aglow to the strategic placement of lights radiating throughout the room.
The room also offers a different kind of dining experience. The table and chairs for eating are foldaway on the wall, which I find extremely thoughtful, not to mention creative. The room also has a 43” flat screen HDTV with free streaming services and individual climate control. Another striking feature of the room was the open pegboard closet and the underground look walk-in rain shower. There is also complimentary wifi, personal safe, easy-to-reach USB ports, and power outlets. Forget about an iron and iron board. The Moxy has a garment steamer and hairdryer that came just in handy.
What else….
In true Moxy style, all the rooms of the hotel are unique so that it all feels very personal, literally!
The eclectic accommodation boasts a variety of facilities and 612 bedrooms that sleep from one to four and come in a variety of layouts, such as quad bunk, a queen with a twin loft bed, a standard king or a one-bedroom studio suite like the one I had – and must I say, all the rooms are pet friendly and has been tastefully decorated, bearing splashes of all the right elements for a perfect stay.
The rooms also include under bed storage, furniture that folds away, and a pegboard wall that makes things easily accessible. There is also a walk-in rain shower for washing up; 43’ flat screen HDTV with full cable access, a in-room retro phone that got me in a frenzy, a garment steamer, daily housekeeping, and much more. The ceilings are also painted, and as such the entire hotel exudes a youthful and vibrant charm. See more on the rooms at the Moxy Times Square here.
The picture-perfect dining experience
An additional feature that sets The Moxy Times Square apart is the exclusive Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge which is described as the largest all-top bar in NYC. It is also the location fit for brunch with friends and family on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 11:30 am with the perfect view of the city from the rooftop patio. Then there is the Legasea if you are craving some scrumptious seafood. Along with an extensive chef-driven menu, I promise you that you will be dining in fine style. The ambiance is very eclectic and skillfully decorated to create a creative eating space.
Socialize at Bar Moxy and be an aesthetic of the cool. This bar is indeed a combo sanctuary that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you need a cocktail, have it your way at the bar, or if you need to just chill alone or with your friends and family, chillax at the lounge. In addition, if you need an office space to work for a few hours, there is that too. For more information on the Moxy Times Square dining experience, click here.
